KUALA LUMPUR: Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will broadcast the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 live, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

In a Facebook post today, Anwar said the live broadcast would allow people, especially F1 fans, across the country to enjoy the race.

"I hope this live broadcast will give people across the country the opportunity to experience the thrill of a world-class race from the Sepang International Circuit (SIC)," Anwar said.

Taking place this weekend from today until Sunday, the race is expected to draw a strong turnout for F1's return to Malaysia after a nine-year absence.

SIC chief executive officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif was previously reported as saying that about 95,000 three-day tickets had been sold as of Sept 29.
