Krakatau volcanic activity disrupts Jakarta-Makassar flights

Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Activity at Anak Krakatau volcano in the Sunda Strait has disrupted flights between Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) and Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (UPG).

Monitoring data from Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport showed 21 flights were affected by the volcanic activity on Sunday.

Of those, 12 flights were canceled, while nine others were delayed.

Nurlia, a passenger traveling from Makassar to Jakarta, said she had been waiting three hours for confirmation of her flight.
