Will Best "shattered" as he continues Strictly Come Dancing after birth of "beautiful" baby

Translate

Will Best announced earlier this week that he and his fiancée Tobi Rose had welcomed their first child into the world together, and admitted that it's been a pretty exhausting few days.

And now he's revealed that he pretty much went straight from last Saturday's show to join his other half in hospital, and that she gave birth on Sunday.

He told The Sun that the timing was quite fortuitous, and he's not had to miss any rehearsals or other parts of the show, although all the back-and-forth has been quite draining.

"With the sort of impeccable timing I can only dream of on the dance floor, Sonny arrived," he said.

“So we were all together Sunday and Sunday night, before I headed to training. This week has been a case of back and forth between the training room and baby bubble.

"My incredible fiancée Tobi has been beyond amazing. If anything, she's keener for me to stay in the competition than I am!

"Obviously I'm shattered. Learning to jive on no sleep is definitely a challenge, but Dianne [Buswell] has the patience of a saint, and loads of new parent advice.

"But I can't believe how lucky I am to be able to start a family with Tobi, have such a beautiful, healthy baby, and still keep dancing. It's like all my dreams coming true at once."

As Will mentioned, he's dancing the jive this week, to Elton John's 'Crocodile Rock' as part of Icons Week.

While Will isn't missing out on this week's show, Delta Goodrem has been given a bye until next week due to injury.

Kai Widdrington revealed that they were going to do the Cha Cha to Olivia Newton-John's 'Xanadu', and when they come back next week, they will slow it down to make it easier on the Australian star.

Strictly Come Dancing airs from 6.15pm tonight on BBC One and iPlayer.
