No weigh! Fury as Toby Carvery chef is filmed carefully weighing a slice of meat he was serving up

In tough times, businesses have to watch every penny – but diners have accused Toby Carvery of going too far when a chef was filmed carefully weighing a slice of meat he was serving up.
After being roasted by online critics, the restaurant chain insisted it was not taking a newly miserly approach to its usually generous portion size.
The debate started when Facebook user Tee Gee posted a video of himself handing his plate to a chef who puts it on a set of scales before carving the meat.
He captioned the footage: 'Tiny Yorkshire puddings and they're weighing the meat now. Good job I went king size. They'll be counting the peas next.'
In the clip, he is seen asking the chef: 'How long have you been weighing the meat?'
The chef in Poole, Dorset, replies: 'About three weeks now', before confirming the scales have also been introduced at other branches.
Tee Gee then asks: 'How much meat can I get in weight?' and is told: 'It's 216g for a king–size plate. It's about 160g on a normal plate.'
One viewer joked: 'We will need ration books soon.'

Toby – which offers unlimited sides and trimmings with its carvery meals – said the scales are used only for staff training. A spokesman said: 'Don't worry, Toby fans, nothing has changed with our portion sizes.
'Our chefs are highly trained and generally carve portions using their experience. Sometimes, we use scales to help train new team members or to reassure existing chefs that their portion servings are on point.'
