Girls returning for limited season run 10 years after finale
HBO's Emmy-winning series Girls is returning for five episodes.
The returning cast will include creator, star, writer and director Lena Dunham as Hannah, Allison Williams as Marnie, Jemima Kirke as Jessa, Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna and Andrew Rannells as Elijah.
In a mock Zoom call, Dunham, Williams, Kirke, Mamet and Rannells committed to a limited run.

In a statement, Dunham said it was rare to get the chance to return to something that changed your life with the gift of hindsight and a whole new level of gratitude and understanding.
"We always said we would only return to Girls if there was a specific story we were burning to tell,"
Dunham said.
"I've missed these characters, but for a long time I couldn't quite picture them in the present day.
"Then, right around my 40th birthday, they started talking to me in the shower.
"And, as you may remember, once this fivesome starts talking it's pretty hard to get them to stop."
Dunham said new people were still discovering the show, reminding her why "we do this".
The "why" being the joy of being together, as well as the chance to wear yellow mesh, she joked.

The cast of Girls will be dealing with a different world and different issues as they examine what it means to be in their 40s as opposed to their 20s.
The show will be executive produced by Judd Apatow.
Production will begin in 2027, a decade after the season six finale.
Girls won two Emmys, including Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series, and was nominated 19 times.
It also won two Golden Globes.
Girls ran from 2012 to 2017 and was set in New York City.
It explored sex and relationships in a frank, honest but at times controversial and cringeworthy manner.
