Ex-Chelsea stakeholder Mark Walter reportedly seeks US$3b sale of Cadillac F1 stake

NEW YORK: Los Angeles Dodgers controlling owner Mark Walter is looking into selling another one of his sports holdings, the Cadillac Formula 1 team, Sportico reported Monday.

In recent months, Walter has sold his shares in both the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and the English Premier League's Chelsea FC.

Walter sold the Lakers in August to a group led by Josh Kushner and Bob Iger for US$12.5 billion after buying the team in June 2025 for US$10 billion.

In September, Walter sold his stake in Chelsea, and he has reportedly been exploring a sale of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks and their practice facility, valued at more than US$700 million.

According to Sportico, Walter wants to sell his Cadillac shares for US$3 billion, and at least seven different parties have shown interest. Walter's company, TWG Global, had denied interest in selling the team as recently as August.

Walter recently told the California Post the he has no interest in selling the Dodgers, who just had their bid for three consecutive World Series championships denied in the National League Championship Series by the eventual world champion Milwaukee Brewers.

Walter's multiple sales came in the wake of reports in July that he and TWG Global are the subject of a federal investigation into allegations of investing money from policyholders into other companies owned by Walter without properly disclosing that information to investors, and using said money to buy the Dodgers.
