Nvidia to back four German AI startups as part of near-$10B European push

Translate

Nvidia is stepping up its investment in Europe's AI sector, announcing plans to back four German startups: Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo, and Reflex Aerospace. The company did not say how much it will invest in each. The announcement came as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz urged businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to "open your doors for AI to make use of your data."

The move is part of Nvidia's commitment of nearly $10 billion to companies, universities, and research institutions across Europe, which was unveiled at the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin on Monday. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told attendees that “AI can only augment your capability; it will not replace your capability,”

Nvidia is also deepening its work with the German federal government and the "Industry 4.0 Platform," a body that brings together government, industry, research, and trade association representatives to speed up industrial AI adoption.

Earlier the same day, Siemens revealed new AI solutions built with Nvidia at its Erlangen factory. According to Siemens, the technology could cut the engineering effort needed to prepare production by up to 85%, while AI-driven production planning could reduce costs by as much as 20%.
