Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

Each generation has that big franchise that seemingly comes out of nowhere but soon makes itself known on every corner of the internet. Since 2019, when this LitRPG first appeared, that big franchise has been Dungeon Crawler Carl.

Beginning its life as a web serial on Royal Road back in December 2019, the Dungeon Crawler Carl series has gone on to welcome eight books, audiobooks, and hardcover releases after the books, written by Matt Dinniman, were picked up by Ace Books back in 2024.

Following its success, the next major step soon occurred: a television series. Courtesy of Peacock and Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door Productions, Dungeon Crawler Carl is currently in development, and will no doubt head to our screens before we know it.

Before that, however, there is another exciting release for fans of the LitRPG series to look forward to, especially if they are looking for a more interactive way to immerse themselves in the exploits of Carl and Princess Donut.

Launching next month will be Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable, a solo or two-player cooperative card-crafting deck-builder. Allowing players to enter the dungeons themselves by gradually upgrading their cards to hone their abilities, this upcoming game will be perfect for game nights, but the new releases do not stop there.

Alongside the launch of Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable, the official Wayland Games website is also releasing Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable - Crawler Chaos, an expansion for Unstoppable. Despite the base game already including tons of content, purchasing the accompanying expansion packs will unlock new dungeon floors, enemies, and cards. As the official item description reads:

"A new cast of Crawlers enters the World Dungeon! Expand your copy of Dungeon Crawler Carl Unstoppable with new playable crawlers, including the durable Katia, the supportive Imani, the spell-slinging Prepotente, and the nimble brawler Archie. You can even build your own crawler and take on the dungeon yourself! Also includes a new short story by Ben Wolf titled: “Swarm” which recounts the tale of Archie's entrance into the World Dungeon."

The original series, which is already full of colorful characters and chaotic events, seems as though it was always born to become a card-playing experience, and you will be pleased to learn that Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable - Crawler Chaos offers tons of additional content and hours more fun. The full feature list includes:

  • 6 Crawler Portrait Cards
  • 21 Character Cards
  • 21 Starting Threat Cards
  • 8 Race Cards
  • 8 Class Cards
  • 30 Sleeves
  • 5 Card Dividers
  • 1 Storybook
  • 1 Rules sheet

Both Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable, its expansion packs, and even its dice sets are all set to go live in November, but are available for pre-order now. So, if you want to immerse yourself in the hit LitRPG world, or purchase a gift for your family and friends this Christmas, look no further than Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable - Crawler Chaos.
