How much does it cost to: Visit Sea World at uShaka Marine World?

Translate

One of Durban’s most popular attractions for both adults and kids is uShaka Marine World.

Take a look at how much it would cost to take a family of four to the Sea World.

ENTRY FEES FOR THE SEA WORLD IN USHAKA MARINE WORLD

For a family of two adults and two children (aged 3 or older), a visit to Sea World alone at the advertised prices comes to about R966.

That’s R267 for each adult and R216 for each child.

Children under 3 get in free, so if you have a toddler, the total would be lower.

Sea World is open from 09:00 to 17:00 daily so you have a full day to explore.

The ticket into the Sea World automatically gives you entry into the aquarium and live shows. This includes dolphin shows, seal shows and a penguin presentations. You can also visit just the Shipwreck Aquarium on its own for R138 per adult and also R138 per child if you are not interested in the Sea World experience.

Just like any other outing for the day, you will also need to budget for food, most likely lunch.

There are fast food restaurants at uShaka , which could cost around R80 to R130 per person. So, about R320 to R520 for the four of you. Adding drinks and a snack or ice cream for the kids could bring a day’s food to around R450 to R700.

The Cargo Hold is the park’s flagship fine-dining restaurant, with windows overlooking the shark tank. A sit-down meal there would likely cost well over R1 000 for a family of four, if you are looking for something more fancy.

Animal encounters on Sea Animal Encounter Island are also priced separately, ranging from roughly R63 to R239 per activity depending on what you choose.

So, budget extra if the kids want a closer look at the marine life. The beach and Village Walk are free to enter, which gives you an inexpensive way to fill any spare time.

If you want to see more of the park at standard prices, the costs add up quickly. Take a look at the cost of visiting Wet ‘n Wild waterpark here.
