Coronation Street confirms emotional Underworld return for Betsy

Coronation Street's Betsy Swain returns to work at Underworld next week, in preparation for her college interview. But when she struggles at the machine, is it too much too soon?

Having secured an interview for a local fashion course, Betsy is keen to put in some sewing practice beforehand. So, the 18-year-old makes the call to return to work, where stepmum Carla keeps an eye on her. But even with Carla by her side, is Betsy truly ready to get back to the grind?

"Betsy wants to give herself the best chance at passing this interview," explains our Weatherfield spy. "Returning to work seems like a great way to do that, as she can hone her sewing skills surrounding by people that want to help and support her.

"You'll have to wait and see how Betsy handles being back in the factory, but you can see from the pictures that Carla wraps her arms around her when she comes up against it."

Later in the week, Betsy finds it difficult to operate the sewing machine the way that she used to. Soon, Sean Tully picks up on the teenager's predicament, so offers to give her a helping hand. But with all that has happened between Betsy and Dylan Wilson, is Sean the right person to assist her?

When the college interview finally comes around, Betsy is a bag of nerves. Thankfully though, Lisa makes the time to accompany her, so she doesn't face the daunting day by herself.

"Lisa is with Betsy every step of the way," continues our source. "There's no world in which she would have ever allowed Betsy to go to the interview on her own.

"Lisa knows that Betsy could need her support in a physical sense, but she can also read Betsy like a book, so she's in no doubt about how nervous she is. Fingers crossed that it all goes well, and that Betsy lands her place on the course."

Is Betsy one step closer to achieving her dream career? Or is she pushing herself too hard while still recovering from her strokes?
