Alex Vallejo found the net in the dying moments of the match as FC Goa held Sporting Club Delhi to a 1-1 draw in their Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Wednesday.

FC Goa returned to home soil after exiting the AFC Challenge League and started aggressively with six shots in the first half to just one from SC Delhi.

But after the break, Tomas Tchorz’s side upped the ante and found the breakthrough six minutes after the restart. Udanta Singh’s poor back pass was latched on to by Rodriguinho, who marched up the pitch and laid it to his right for Juan Peña, who shot past Vallejo and goalkeeper Bob Raj into the net.

The SC Delhi camp looked quite relaxed as the match seemed to end 1-0 in its favour when Vallejo got a chance to redeem himself in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time.

Franchu sent in a free-kick into the box, which, after a minor deflection off Tomba Singh, fell for Vallejo, who shot into the net to break SC Delhi’s hearts.

Goa will face bottom-placed side next, in Inter Kashi, on November 1. SC Delhi, meanwhile, will travel to Mumbai to face an injury-stricken Isanders side, now managed by Manolo Marquez, the former coach of SC Delhi when it used to play in Hyderabad.
