A feature documentary about Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles is getting ready to roll.

Andscape has began production on Fair Play: The Jordan Chiles Story from filmmaker Trishtan Williams (Starting 5), The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The film is set to be released on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in fall of 2027 amid the lead-up to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Fair Play: The Jordan Chiles Story offers unprecedented access to the 25-year-old gymnast who faces a pivotal moment in life. Chiles helped Team USA take silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games before helping lead the team to gold at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Hailing from Andscape, Campfire Studios and Select Entertainment, the documentary will show Chiles inside the gym and out as she navigates life in the spotlight as a voice for a new generation of athletes.

Producers include Ross M. Dinerstein and Allyson Holloway for Campfire Studios. Executive producing are Anne Hazlett for Campfire Studios, alongside Lisa Filipelli, Amy Neben and Alexia Maitland for Select Entertainment.

Williams’ previous directorial credits include the first two seasons of Netflix’s Starting 5, along with Life in the W for ESPN and Why Not Us: Howard Golf, with the latter counting Stephen Curry as executive producer. Other television credits include Love Is Blind, America’s Next Top Model and The Amazing Race.

Chiles’ career highlights include her accomplishment in 2022 of becoming one of three Black gymnasts to sweep the podium at the U.S. Championships. She has become a best-selling author with memoir I’m That Girl, finished third on last year’s Dancing With the Stars and established herself as an advocate for mental health and body positivity.

“My journey in gymnastics has taught me a lot about resilience, perseverance, and the importance of defining success on my own terms,” says Chiles. “As I work toward LA28, I’m excited to partner with Andscape and Hulu to share more of my story, reflect on the experiences that have shaped me, and explore what it means to step into this next chapter while reclaiming my narrative.”

Adds Williams, “Jordan is so much more than an extraordinary athlete. She’s a young woman navigating immense expectations while finding the courage to define herself on her own terms. What excites me most about directing this film is the opportunity to capture Jordan in all her dimensions — her joy, vulnerability, ambition, and resilience. With unprecedented access, this doc goes beyond medals and competition to explore identity, purpose, and what it truly means to take back the pen and write your own story.”

Andscape vp and general manager Jason Aidoo notes, “Jordan Chiles is one of the most compelling athletes of her generation, not only because of what she has accomplished in gymnastics, but because of the way she continues to define herself beyond it. This film gives us the rare opportunity to be alongside Jordan at a pivotal moment in her life and career, as she takes greater ownership of her story and what comes next. At Andscape, we want to tell stories that begin with sport but reveal something bigger about the people and culture around it.”

Chiles is represented by CAA, Select Management Group and Brecheen Feldman Breimer. Williams is repped by Braden Currier at WME.
