A-GC denies defying King's pardon, dismisses treason claims

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) has denied defying the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's conditional pardon for Datuk Seri Najib Razak and dismissed allegations of treason by his lawyers as baseless.

The A-GC said that it had never questioned, set aside or intended to suspend the royal pardon granted by Sultan Ibrahim on Sept 18.

"The A-GC stresses that it has not in any way disputed, set aside or intended to suspend the conditional pardon granted by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong," it said in a statement.

"Such allegations are baseless in light of the legal questions raised by the A-GC," it said.
