Foo Fighters Race Through “This Is a Call” on Kimmel: Watch

Foo Fighters continued their week-long takeover of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday evening with a rousing performance of “This Is a Call.”

It’s been over 30 years since the Foos released “This Is a Call,” but it remains a powder keg. For their Kimmel rendition, Grohl reprised his usual roar, tipping over into a full-on shriek when hitting the high notes; Pat Smear had a smile plastered on his face, and Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, and Ilan Rubin stuck to their guns for a faithful, energetic performance. After the final chorus, the band segued into a high-energy jam, with Rubin closing things out with a blistering drum solo. Watch their “This Is a Call” performance below.

Foo Fighters are Kimmel’s musical guest for the entirety of this week; on Monday, Grohl sat for an interview with Kimmel before joining the band for a performance of “Window.” Grohl also confirmed that later this week, they’ll play their cover of “Baker Street,” a track they recently brought back to their live set for the first time in 19 years.
