Ahead Of Top Court Hearing, Bhagwant Mann Alleges CBI Raids At His Office

Mann has alleged that the raid was engineered by the BJP ahead of the state polls.
Chandigarh:
The Central Bureau of Investigation has conducted searches at the camp office of Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann has alleged. The move comes ahead of a Supreme Court hearing in a case linked to alleged interference in transfers, postings and government functioning.
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia termed it "Major CBI action" and said the agency had carried out a raid in connection with a case linked to the Chief Minister's Officer on Special Duty.
Mann has alleged that the BJP had started preparations for Punjab elections and claimed the CBI raid at his camp office was part of an attempt to target him and the state government.
The CBI action, Mann's allegations and the upcoming Supreme Court hearing have added a fresh political dimension to the case, with the ruling AAP and opposition parties taking contrasting positions over the investigation.
