Now the popular actor is set to headline an upcoming action project that just got a major upgrade.

A new report from Deadline has revealed that Foxx's upcoming action film, Deadlocked, has added Marko Zaror to its cast. The Chilean martial artist and actor previously portrayed Chidi in John Wick: Chapter 4. As that ruthless character, the actor left a memorable mark on viewers.

In addition to Zaror helping John Wick: Chapter 4 earn stellar reviews, that film co-starred another actor and martial artist named Scott Adkins, who brought Killa Harkan to life in the film. In June 2025, Adkins was talking to MovieWeb as they were set to co-star again in the movie Diablo. At that time, Adkins unreservedly praised Zaror as an onscreen presence and fighter. Deadline's article announcing Zaror has joined the cast of Deadlocked also revealed another actor who has signed on to the project. Tyrik Johnson from Dedicated to Morris Burke has also joined the project's cast. In the case of both actors, details about their roles remain a mystery. However, it is known that the movie will co-star Foxx, Sasha Calle, KiKi Layne, and Luke Hemsworth.

The outlet also reported that Deadlocked will be focused on a grieving former Marine who is forced to take action while serving jury duty. When a daughter takes the high-profile fictional trial at the heart of the movie hostage to save her father, the veteran intervenes. The story is based on a script written by Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack that was created from an original idea.

Deadlocked is being directed by Nikhil Bhat, who previously helmed the 2023 action movie Kill. The project is being filmed for Prime Video under the watchful eyes of several producers: Fred Berger for Range, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan for C2, and Jamie Foxx for Foxxhole Productions. It is also being executive produced by AJ Bourscheid, Liz Destro, Paul Currie, and Corinne Foxx.
