KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has welcomed a High Court ruling granting an interim stay against the Registrar of Societies’ (RoS) decision to deregister the coalition, saying it will now direct its full electoral machinery towards the Melaka state election.

In a statement today, Ahmad Samsuri said that PN was “on the right path in defending our rights through legal channels” and maintained that political adversaries seeking to “erase” the coalition would fail to undermine its resolve.

“PN remains steadfast, and this struggle will continue,” he said, offering gratitude to supporters for their prayers and commending the coalition’s legal team for securing the urgent court intervention.

Earlier today, High Court Judge Datuk Azizan Md Arshad allowed PN’s leave application to stay the RoS order revoking the coalition’s corporate registration pending the final disposal of its substantive judicial review challenge.

The court concurrently froze the enforcement of an accompanying RoS directive that had ordered the immediate suspension of all PN operations nationwide.

The interim stay removes a legal cloud hovering over the coalition, allowing PN to operate unhindered as an approved political entity and field candidates under its official logo for the Melaka state election set for Nov 14.

With the legal hurdle cleared, Ahmad Samsuri instructed the coalition’s grassroots wings to pivot immediately from courtroom battles to the ballot box, rallying party workers to “strengthen preparations, foster closer cooperation and present the best offerings to the people.”
