Monday's edition features closing speeches from the prosecution and defence barristers, before the jury head off to deliberate.

Sarah is sent back to the cells, but word soon reaches her that the jury has reached a quick decision.

The speed of the outcome leaves the Platts fearing the worst, but when Sarah enters the dock, there's a huge relief for all when the jury return a verdict of not guilty!

The revelation of course means that Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah, will be staying on the cobbles and sets up lots of fresh storylines for the Platts.

Bethany is still hiding her guilt over sleeping with Sarah's ex-partner Kit Green and now being pregnant with his baby.

Meanwhile, Sarah is still hoping for a future with Kit – but does he feel the same way after everything that's happened?

Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, recently told us: "Bethany and Sarah have a really good relationship. Bethany has been such a support to her – she's basically been a mum to Harry while Sarah's been in prison.

"They're almost like best friends because they're not so far apart in age. So she's not feeling great about it. I think it's going to eat away at her until one day she can't take it anymore."

Asked whether Bethany will come clean, Lucy replied: "No, I think right now it's deny, deny, deny. Coming clean is not an option, especially if she wants to keep a relationship with her mum, because her mum would have the right to never speak to either of them again.

"I mean, the whole family would, it's not even just Sarah! So she's stuck in an impossible position right now."

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
