Tottenham handed double injury scare as Roberto De Zerbi issues update before Everton clash

“Pedro Porro felt a small muscular problem, we have to see tomorrow if he’s available or not but in this moment I don’t want to take any risks. The same (with) Udogie,” the Spurs head coach said.

“Pedro Porro and Udogie are similar players because one, Pedro played a World Cup, a long World Cup and we already knew after the World Cup it could be a difficult management for him.

“For Udogie, last season (he) suffered many injuries, he played 60 minutes in Nottingham and we have to manage also Destiny in the best way we can.”

If Porro is ruled out then it could be Archie Gray named at right-back, while Andy Robertson is the obvious option to stand-in for Udogie on the opposite flank.

The Tottenham team to face Everton will be announced at 4.15pm BST ahead of kick-off in north London at 5.30pm.

Victory for Spurs would see them move to within a point of today’s opponents, though their goal difference means it’s highly unlikely they will leap into the top half of the Premier League table.

That said, the omens are good for Tottenham as they won the corresponding fixture against Everton last season - confirming their top-flight status in the process - and have not lost at home to the Toffees for six years.
