Fabien Frankel & Will Harrison Latest To Join Netflix Drama Series ‘The Retrievals’

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix continues to round out its cast for drama series The Retrievals, with the addition today of Fabien Frankel (Task) and Will Harrison (A Complete Unknown).

Frankel plays Ian, the older brother and protector of Emilia Jones’ lead character, Gabby Clemente. A father of three who is 10 years sober, Ian is an expert on the curveballs life can throw you. Patient but tough, he takes Gabby in and offers her unwavering support after her traumatic egg retrieval.

Victor, played by Harrison, is Gabby’s high school sweetheart and now husband, who grew up in a big, loving family and can’t wait to have his own.

Frankel and Harrison come aboard following Jessica Chastain, who we announced yesterday. Amy Ryan is also set for the show from Sirens and Maid‘s Molly Smith Metzler, which draws on the Peabody-winning New York Times podcast by Susan Burton.

The Retrievals follows an unlikely community of IVF patients who come together to crusade against Yale University after they are operated on without anesthesia — because a nurse (Ryan) stole their fentanyl.

Chastain plays Kaitlyn Langford, one of the plaintiffs in a historic lawsuit against Yale.

Metzler is showrunner, writer and executive producer for The Retrievals, which is produced by LuckyChap and her Quiet Coyote. Other exec producers include Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie for LuckyChap; Colin McKenna (Maid, Sirens); Caitlin Roper for the New York Times; podcast writer Burton; and Lila Neugebauer, another alum of Maid and Sirens who will direct the pilot.

Frankel is the English actor who currently stars as Ser Criston Cole in HBO’s House of the Dragon and played detective Anthony Grasso in the first season of their hit crime drama Task. Upcoming, he’ll be seen in Arkasha Stevenson’s untitled bachelor party horror film for A24. He is repped by Curtis Brown Group, CAA, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

From the other side of the pond, Harrison has been seen starring in the shows Daisy Jones & The Six, Murdaugh: Death in the Family and Manhunt, also appearing as folk artist Bobby Neuwirth in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. His upcoming slate of films includes Nicolas Curcio’s horror flick Play House, which world premieres at Fantastic Fest in a matter of days, as well as Hanna Gray Organschi’s condom shop drama Rubber Hut. He is repped by Gersh and 3 Arts Entertainment.
