Confederation of African Football president Patrice Motsepe has expressed confidence that Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will be ready to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations despite concerns over preparations.

Motsepe dismissed suggestions that the tournament could be shifted elsewhere, saying CAF remains committed to working with the three East African countries to ensure the required deadlines are met.

He admitted there are still areas that need improvement, with work continuing on stadiums, training facilities and other infrastructure.

Motsepe said the focus now is on speeding up preparations and ensuring that all three host nations receive the support they need from CAF.

He also praised the progress being made in Tanzania, while stressing that the remaining months would be crucial for completing the work.

The 2027 edition will be the first Africa Cup of Nations jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The tournament is provisionally scheduled to begin on June 19 and conclude on July 17, 2027.
