Rihanna's alleged house shooter indicted on attempted murder charge as she faces life in prison

The Florida woman accused of shooting into Rihanna's Beverly Hills mansion earlier this year, while the singer and her family were inside, has been indicted on multiple charges in connection with the incident.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 36, was charged with attempted murder as well as 10 counts of assault with an assault weapon and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.
The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced the news on Wednesday after unsealing an indictment that was returned on June 18.
'Every person deserves to feel safe in and around their home,' District Attorney Nathan J Hochman said in a statement. 'Shooting at an occupied home is a serious, violent crime that is both reckless and dangerous.'
The Orlando, Florida, native entered a plea of not guilty to the charges, with her bail set at $2.65 million. She is due back in court for a hearing October 29.
Ortiz faces a sentence of up to life in prison if convicted on the charges.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office for further comment on the story.
Prosecutors said that on the afternoon of March 8, Ortiz allegedly drove up to Rihanna's Southern California home and fired 'an assault weapon multiple times at the house.'
At the time of the incident, Rihanna, 38, was present on the property with her partner A$AP Rocky, 37, and their three children: sons RZA Athelston, four, and Riot Rose, three, and one-year-old daughter Rocki Irish, in addition to 'several other people,' prosecutors said.
No people had been hit by the gunfire, with Hochman adding that 'it is pure luck and not a matter of restraint that no one was killed or injured.'
Authorities later took Ortiz into custody in Sherman Oaks, California, according to prosecutors.
In a hearing this past April, prosecutor Alexander Bott said that Ortiz had traveled to the singer's house 'with a loaded weapon, ammunition and a wig as a disguise.'
Bott said the incident 'could easily have resulted in multiple homicides…of adults and children.'
Rihanna had informed authorities in legal docs reviewed by The Daily Mail that 'she had received death threats over social media in the past but most never rose to a serious level.
‘She has referred several stalkers for restraining orders and threat management through her security team over the years but no recent event came to mind that may be associated with the current incident.'

Bullet holes were seen all over Rihann's property after the shooting on March 17
Bullet holes were seen on many areas of the property, the outlet reported, including an exterior gate, a fence, a patio, a wall adjacent to a nursery room and the windshield of an Airstream trailer on the property.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had been in the trailer while their kids had been in the nursery when the incident occurred, according to legal documents.
Ortiz, who subsequently lost her license to practice speech language pathology following the incident, was deemed mentally competent to stand trial following four months of evaluation on Tuesday, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Ortiz had previously been arrested in connection with suspicion of domestic violence and battery in 2023, according to the outlet.
Two years prior, she had been taken into custody in connection with suspicion of careless driving. She was also linked to a 2013 bankruptcy.
Ortiz had previously mentioned Rihanna in multiple social media posts, including a February posting in which she wrote to the singer: 'Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around.'
