The A24 documentary has broken into the all-time top 3 non-music documentaries list at the North American box office. But the road to the #1 spot is challenging, and beating Fahrenheit 9/11’s record domestic haul would need more strength. You Can See Everything is still quite far away from beating Lionsgate film released over two decades ago. Keep scrolling for the deets.

You Can See Everything at the North American box office

The A24 documentary grossed a spectacular $3.6 million on its third Friday at the North American box office. It is the biggest third Friday ever for documentaries. It declined by 42.1% from last Friday. The documentary has surpassed Fahrenheit 9/11’s $3.3 million 3rd Friday gross. The film expanded from 2.655 to 3.243 theatres in North America. It has hit the $56.9 million cume at the domestic box office.

How much does it need to beat Fahrenheit 9/11 at the domestic box office?

Fahrenheit 9/11 was released in 2004; it is a documentary by Michael Moore about the presidency of George W. Bush, the Iraq War, and the media’s coverage of the war. It emerged as the all-time highest-grossing non-music documentary at the box office in North America.

Trending

According to the Box Office Mojo data, Fahrenheit 9/11 collected $119.2 million at the domestic box office in its lifetime. The A24 documentary is less than $65 million away from beating the domestic haul of Fahrenheit 9/11 as the all-time biggest non-music documentary. It needs a jump of over 109% at the domestic box office to achieve this feat. The film is currently tracking to earn between $90 million and $100 million in its box office run. If it lands in this range, the A24 documentary will have to end its box-office run below Fahrenheit 9/11.

More about the movie

The movie is tracking to earn between $11 million and $14 million in its 3rd weekend in North America. The film will remain in the domestic top 5 in its third weekend as well. The film follows notorious Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes as she invites a skeptical film crew to document her life 34 days before beginning her prison sentence. What starts as an intimate portrait eventually unfolds into a mind-bending journey spanning three years. You Can See Everything was released on October 16.
