Alexandria Port receives cruise ship “MEIN SCHIFF 5” carrying 3,502 passengers

The Alexandria Port Authority received on Sunday, September 27, 2026, the cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 5, arriving from the port of Heraklion in Greece with 3,502 passengers on board, including 2,560 tourists and 942 crew members.

The vessel is scheduled to depart this evening for the Greek port of Rhodes.

Alexandria Port Spokesperson Ahmed Bereqaa said in a statement that the ship’s visit comes amid growing cruise-ship traffic at the port, reflecting its capabilities to accommodate various types of cruise vessels and provide passengers with services to the highest standards of efficiency.

The passengers’ tourism program is scheduled to include visits to a number of archaeological and historical sites in Alexandria, Cairo and Giza, covering ancient Egyptian, Greco-Roman and Islamic landmarks.

A cycling tour of Alexandria will also be organized for a number of passengers to explore the city’s landmarks and distinctive atmosphere.

A number of Alexandria Port Authority officials received the vessel in coordination with the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, and Alexandria Governorate, represented by its Regional Tourism Promotion Authority.
