Esposito: ‘I don’t forget I was in Serie B two years ago’

Pio Esposito cannot seem to stop scoring for Italy or Inter, but the 21-year-old remains humble. ‘I don’t forget that two years ago I was in Serie B.’
The centre-forward has seven goals in just 13 senior caps for the Azzurri since making his debut in September 2025.
He was on target in two of the four Nations League matches played during this break for international duty, along with providing an assist.
It was a family affair, starting two of those games alongside brother Sebastiano Esposito.
Esposito career has taken off

“I am proud of what I have done so far with the Nazionale and thank coach Roberto Mancini for putting his faith in me,” said Pio Esposito during the Premio Gianluca Vialli awards in Rimini.
“I don’t forget that two years ago I was playing in Serie B. Last season I made 50 appearances with Inter, and now I am playing alongside two of the best strikers in Serie A.”

With Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, it is by no means easy for the 21-year-old to break into the starting XI with the Nerazzurri.
A product of the Inter youth academy, Esposito has scored two goals with one assist in five Serie A appearances for the club so far this season.
