German-Born Nigerian Youngster Ajayi Close To Signing New Long-Term Deal At Man United

Highly rated Manchester United youngster Noah Ajayi is close to signing a new long-term contract at the club.

The 17-year-old has been an emerging talent at the club since arriving from Germany at the age of 10.

Ajayi is a 6’2″ winger who can play on either flank and has impressed those at the club, including academy chief Stephen Torpey, as he has developed through the age groups at Carrington, as reported by Sky Sports.

Ajayi had attracted interest from clubs in England as well as around Europe for his signature, but his long-term future looks set to be at United as he prepares to sign his first pro contract at the club.

It is a huge boost amid the JJ Gabriel news that broke yesterday, with his future still seemingly up in the air.

Born in Hamburg to a Nigerian father and a German mother, Ajayi moved to England at the age of 10.

Ajayi joined the youth academy of German side TSV Sasel. Following his stint there, he joined the youth academy of English Premier League giants Manchester United.

He is a Germany youth international. During the spring of 2026, he played for the Germany national under-19 football team for 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification.

The 6ft2in attacker notched an impressive seven goals in 18 appearances in Premier League 2 last season, and his exciting potential captured the attention of multiple clubs across Europe.

However, while Ajayi is about to extend his career at United another exciting youngster JJ Gabriel could be heading out.

TEAMtalk exclusively revealed on August 13 that United had concerns Gabriel could quit could the club, and the news then broke on Tuesday that he had made it clear he wants out of Old Trafford.

The Athletic have since reported that United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is doing all he can to prevent him from leaving.

“The matter has come to a head after Gabriel informed United he wants to leave and handed in a letter of de-registration. United have no intention of granting that request and are hopeful a resolution can be found.

“The Premier League club acknowledge he is an exceptional talent and are trying to keep him. Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is aware of the matter, and United executives are making efforts to persuade Gabriel to stay.

“But they are investigating whether they are powerless to halt his exit once he turns 16 on October 6 if he has a European passport.“
