RTM to broadcast F1 Bahrain GP live, says Anwar

Radio Televisyen Malaysia will broadcast the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 live, allowing fans nationwide to enjoy the race, says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

“I hope this live broadcast will give Malaysians in all corners of the country the opportunity to feel the thrill of world-class racing at Sepang International Circuit (SIC),” he said in a Facebook post today.

The race weekend, from Oct 2 to 4, marks F1’s return to Sepang after a nine-year hiatus following an agreement between F1, the International Automobile Federation and the governments of Malaysia and Bahrain.

Malaysia hosted the Malaysian GP at Sepang from 1999 to 2017 before the race was dropped from the F1 calendar.

Interest in the Bahrain GP has been overwhelming, with SIC expecting overall attendance to reach 100,000 across the three days, driven by strong local demand and international visitors who make up 50% of ticket sales.
