Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband lawyer Manases "Mans" Carpio have unexplained wealth and undeclared assets amounting to P817.87 million, a financial forensic analyst who testified as a prosecution witness in the Senate impeachment trial said Friday.
Speaking on Day 37 of Duterte's trial, lawyer Alexander Cabrera presented a report flagging alleged financial irregularities in the records of Carpio and the vice president.
Cabrera said he had arrived at the number after piercing the corporate veil—a legal principle wherein the court overlooks the company's separate legal personality and directly holds the individuals responsible.
The financial analyst put together the Duterte-Carpio couple's undeclared cash, undeclared other personal and other real properties, undeclared income, undeclared income from companies Cale88 and Metro City, and total undeclared income from Gencorp, from 2022 to 2025.

"Ano po ang sumatutal ng undeclared assets and income ni VP Sara at nung kanyang asawa para sa taong 2022 hanggang 2025, sir?" House prosecutor Rep. Chel Diokno asked.
(What is the grand total of undeclared assets and income of VP Sara and her husband for the years 2022 to 2025, sir?)
"P817,874,867," Cabrera said.
Asked if he was certain that there were no duplications, Cabrera said he was certain.
"Ang amin pong method na ginamit po dito ay very conservative. 'Yun 'yung aming inalagaan, na walang double counting, wala pong duplication ng count," Cabrera said.
(Our method here is very conservative. That is what we made sure of, that there was no double counting, no duplication of the count.) — VDV, GMA News
