Lorraine and This Morning hit by scheduling shake-up today amid issue at ITV studio

Lorraine and This Morning have been hit by a scheduling disruption this morning (Wednesday 4 November) following a power outage at ITV studio.

Lorraine typically airs on weekdays at 9.30 on ITV, with This Morning usually following at 10am.

But early this morning, Lorraine Kelly took to Instagram to share that today’s instalment of her self-titled chat show had been cancelled, while also revealing that This Morning had been delayed.

"Hello there," she said in a video. "I'm on my way to work, but there's been a little bit of a hoo-ha. There's a power outage at the studio so my show won’t be on today."

"So This Morning will still be on as well, just maybe a little bit later," she continued.

She added of today’s episode of Lorraine: "So it's a bit of a shame.
I was really looking forward to talking to Sharleen Spiteri from [the rock band] Texas, but we shall reschedule, and it'll all be fine. I will see you tomorrow."

This Morning has been running since 1988, and is currently hosted by Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley for the majority of the week, while Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond take over on Fridays.

Meanwhile, Lorraine Kelly has hosted her daytime show since 2010.

Last year, the show was cut from an hour to 30 minutes, with Good Morning Britain (GMB) being extended by half an hour to fill the gap.

Speaking exclusively to Radio Times about the decision, she said: "I’m not bothered about my fat face being on the telly. My fat face has been on the telly for 42 years, and I think we’re fine."

She did admit that the cuts were "a bit of a shock at first", but added that "actually it’s worked out really well. I’m still there, doing what I love, but [the extra free time] has opened up a whole new world.

"I can spend more time with my granddaughter, Billie, who’s human sunshine, but also I can really concentrate on writing, instead of trying to fit it in at one o’clock in the morning, or saying to my husband, 'Sorry, we can’t go on holiday because I’m writing.'"
