Stallone on daughter's 'Tulsa King' casting: 'Of course it's nepotism'

Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has seemingly crushed the nepotism debate with his candid reaction to the criticism surrounding his daughter Scarlet Rose Stallone’s casting in ‘Tulsa King’. The actor, in his latest chat, shut down the nepotism debate, while defending movie star parents who use their influence to give their children film opportunities.Scarlet plays Spencer alongside her father in the crime drama series. Speaking to USA Today, Stallone said, “First they go, ‘Nepotism is terrible.' I said, ‘Oh please, you’re not a good parent if you haven’t performed a little nepotism. Then obviously you don’t care about your kids, because they come first.’”He continued, "Of course it’s nepotism, you idiot. That’s why we’re parents. We want the best for our children.

So obviously, we let them have every advantage."However, Stallone also acknowledged that having a famous parent can open doors, but it does not guarantee stardom. He explained, “Can they maintain that level of excellence? That’s out of our hands. But if you can open the door, we’ll see if they have the ability to go through it. It might be a question of, ‘Now how do I get out of this?’ Be careful what you wish for.”As per the latest reports, 'Tulsa King' has been renewed for a fifth season.

The update came ahead of the show’s fourth season premiere on October 16, Deadline reported.Production officially kicked off in New York, with the city replacing Atlanta as the latest filming location. The shift comes as the storyline delves deeper into Dwight “The General” Manfredi’s (Sylvester Stallone) mafia roots. Scarlet Rose Stallone will return as Spencer for Season 5 with a promotion to series regular. There will also be 5 new series regulars joining the fold: Erik Palladino (I Play Rocky), Glenn Fleshler (Billions), Anthony Skordi (The Last Frontier), and Nickola Shreli (Power Book IV: Force).
