Amanda Seyfried, Thomas Sadoski split after 9 years of marriage

Hollywood couple Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski have confirmed their separation after nearly a decade of marriage.

The actors announced their split in a joint statement sent exclusively to People Magazine on Tuesday, Sept. 15, saying they had been separated for some time.

“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD,” they said.

Seyfried and Sadoski did not disclose when they separated or what led to the decision. They also did not confirm whether either of them has filed for divorce.

The couple shares two children: daughter Nina, born in March 2017 shortly after their wedding, and son Thomas Jr., whom they welcomed in September 2020. 

Seyfried and Sadoski first met in 2015 while starring together in the Off-Broadway play “The Way We Get By.” They reunited later that year for the film “The Last Word,” in which they played love interests.

The pair went official with their relationship in 2016 and became engaged later that year. They quietly eloped in March 2017 in a private countryside ceremony attended only by an officiant.

Seyfried rose to fame with her roles in “Mean Girls” (2004), where she played Karen Smith, and “Mamma Mia!” (2008), in which she starred as Sophie Sheridan opposite Meryl Streep.

She also appeared in the films “Dear John,” “Les Misérables” and “Letters to Juliet.” On television, she earned critical recognition for playing Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s “The Dropout.”

Seyfried won the 2022 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for “The Dropout.” 

Her more recent acting work includes the television series “Long Bright River” and films such as “The Housemaid” and “The Testament of Ann Lee.” 

Sadoski, meanwhile, is known for his portrayal of Don Keefer in the HBO series “The Newsroom” and later starred as Matt Short in the CBS sitcom “Life in Pieces.”
