Kidnappers kill father, driver, mother dies in captivity as boy escapes
A young boy, identified as Hassan Haruna from Bena in Kebbi State, has survived a kidnap attack along Shagari Road but lost his parents and family driver in the incident.
According to Hassan, in a video circulating on social media, he was travelling with his father, mother and their driver when armed kidnappers attacked their vehicle.
He said the attackers killed his father and the driver before abducting him and his mother and taking them into a forest.
Hassan said his mother later died while they were being held captive in the kidnappers’ hideout.
He eventually escaped from captivity and found his way out through the Kucheri forest area of Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Following his escape, Hassan was taken to a hospital, where he received medical attention and is currently recovering.
Narrating his ordeal, Hassan said he had been travelling with his parents when the attackers struck, killing his father and the driver and taking him and his mother into the forest.
He also recounted how his mother died during their captivity before he eventually managed to escape.

Efforts are reportedly being made to trace Hassan’s relatives and reunite him with his family.
Members of the public, particularly residents of Bena and surrounding communities, have been urged to share information that could help locate his relatives.
His ordeal has also prompted calls for prayers for the deceased members of his family and support for the boy as he recovers from the traumatic experience.
“Imagine surviving captivity only to come out without your father and mother,” a message accompanying the appeal said.
It added, “May Allah forgive his parents, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and give Hassan the strength to live with this painful loss.”
