Marafa vows to end Zamfara banditry in first tenure or resign

Zamfara State prominent politician, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa has vowed to take the fight to bandits’ hide out and tackle insecurity in the state within the first tenure in office if elected as governor in 2027.

Senator Marafa who is contesting the governorship position under the platform of the National Democratic Congress further insisted that he is ready to end all forms of banditry activities in the state.

According to him, all forms of banditry activities can be seriously addressed within the shortest possible time if given the necessary attention and seriousness.

He observed that the fight against insecurity and banditry were not given the adequate attention by the appropriate authorities, adding that, “I will either end banditry in my first tenure in office or resign”.

The ADC governorship candidate reminded the residents, “I was a commissioner in the state and Senator at the national assembly for many years, as such, I am conversant with the problems affecting my state, as well as the country in general.

“If elected as governor in the coming general elections, within a period of two years, I will end insecurity in the state by the grace of God or vacate my office,” Marafa vowed.

He urged the residents of the state to give him their maximum support and cooperation to ensure the success of all the NDC candidates at the 2027 elections.

He maintained that, he would take the state to greater heights and ensure that all the critical sectors of the economy would be given due attention, particularly those that have direct impact on the lives of women and youths.

“As you are aware, women, children and youths constitute a higher percentage of the population of every nation, as such, I will do everything humanly possible to ensure that they reap from the dividends of democracy under my administration if selected as Zamfara State governor.”
