India opener Shafali Verma has moved two places up to No. 4 in T20I batting rankings following an excellent run in the format.
After her scores of 64 and 68 in the semi-final and final of the Asia Cup respectively, Shafali continued her dominance with the bat, making 40 not out in the quarter-final of the Asian Games against Japan and following it up with an unbeaten 49-ball 100 in the semi-final against Bangladesh. It was her maiden white-ball ton in international cricket, as she also became the first woman to score a hundred in the Asian Games.
She also helped India win their second consecutive Asian Games gold in women's cricket, scoring 48 in a blistering opening stand alongside Smriti Mandhana. Shafali went past Mandhana and West Indies' Hayley Matthews to break into the top four of the rankings, with 756 points. Beth Mooney, Georgia Voll and Laura Wolvaardt held on to their top three spots respectively.
Pakistan batter Shawaal Zulfiqar broke into the top 30 of the T20I batting rankings, moving up 16 places to 29th with a career-best points tally of 558. Zulfiqar made 54 in the semi-final of the Asian Games against Sri Lanka, while her team-mate Ayesha Zafar, who scored 71 in the same match, climbed 31 places to 40th with a career-best of 489 points. Zafar also went nine places up to 30th in the T20I all-rounder rankings.
In the T20I bowling rankings, India's spin duo of N Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma continued to occupy the top spots. Both players recorded career-best points tallies, climbing 15 and 22 places respectively following impressive performances in recent times. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana made gains in the bowlers' list, moving up five places to 24th.
