Daniel Zovatto, Mia Tharia & Sonita Henry Join Apple TV’s ‘Disavowed’ As Series Regulars

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Zovatto (Woman of the Hour, Station Eleven), Mia Tharia (Klara and the Sun, September Says) and Sonita Henry (Silo, Black Cake) have been cast in Apple TV‘s Disavowed.

Character details are being kept under wraps.

Starring and executive produced by James Marsden, based on an original idea by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Disavowed follows legendary CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin (James Marsden), who is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing his colleague. Disgraced and outcast from the world of intelligence, all bets are off when Brad decides to go after the $15 million federal bounty on the assassin’s head.

Previously announced cast includes Norman Reedus, Sylvia Hoeks, Bokeem Woodbine and Noma Dumezweni.

Hailing from Apple Studios, the series is executive produced by Marcum & Holloway, Tom Spezialy, Michelle MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs and Marsden. Blue Marble Pictures (Pachinko) produces, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity serving as executive producers. MacLaren (The Morning Show, Breaking Bad) directs the first two episodes and executive produces alongside Hobbs under her overall deal with Apple TV.

Zovatto recently wrapped shooting action drama The Last Druid, alongside Russell Crowe, Rose Leslie, and Drew McIntyre. He most recently appeared in Basics of Philosophy, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Other recent film credits include Woman of the Hour for Netflix and The Pope’s Exorcist opposite Russell Crowe. His television work includes Station Eleven and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, among others. He’s repped by Gersh and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum & Morris.

Tharia made her acting debut at the age of 17 in the BBC’s Phoenix Rise in 2023. She went on to appear in September Says, BBC One’s The Listeners and most recently played the titular character alongside Clare Dunne, Flora Nicholson and Fiona Shaw in Sophie Heldmann’s period drama The Education of Jane Cumming. She’ll next be seen in the anticipated Taika Waititi-directed feature Klara and the Sun. Tharia is repped by Independent Talent Group, Prosper PR, Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, LLP.

Henry was recently seen in Apple TV’s Silo, the BBC’s Wild Cherry and Hulu’s Black Cake. On the film side, Henry will next be seen in DC Studios’ Clayface and Untitled Jimmy White Biopic. Additional TV credits include Hulu’s Into the Dark, Prime Video’s Absentia, Sky’s Breeders, among others. Henry is repped by Ness Evans at 42 and Douglas Stone and Roland Templeman of Glaser Weil.
