Wednesday season 3 gets major production update confirmed by Netflix as fans await new episodes

Netflix has given fans a major production update on Wednesday season 3 – and it's good news!

The upcoming instalment of the supernatural mystery series began production in February this year in Ireland, with key cast members including Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Emma Myers (Enid), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gomez), Hunter Doohan (Tyler), Fred Armisen (Fester) and more returning.

And now the streamer has confirmed that filming on the third season has come to an end.

Netflix shared the news on social media, writing “Season 3 has officially wrapped 🖤” alongside a photo of Ortega on set.

While an official release date is yet to be revealed, we know that filming on season 2 wrapped in December 2024, with the season then airing eight months later in August 2025.

Co-creator and showrunner Alfred Gough previously said of season 3: "Our goal for season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can."

Co-creator and showrunner Miles Millar added to Tudum: "We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday. We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season 3!"

Alongside the returning cast, season 3 is also welcoming a bunch of new faces, including Eva Green (who's playing Aunt Ophelia), Winona Ryder (Tabitha), Chris Sarandon (Balthazar), Noah Taylor (Cyrus), Oscar Morgan (Atticus), and Kennedy Moyer (Daisy),

Also joining the cast are Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), St. Elmo’s Fire icon Andrew McCarthy, and Ted Lasso star James Lance.
