Emmerdale to unleash new mystery over Liam's secretive behaviour

Emmerdale's Liam Cavanagh has some explaining to do next week, when Chas Dingle realises that he's acting secretively. But will he tell the truth about his unusual behaviour – or keep his cards close to his chest?

In the Woolpack living room, Chas feels unsettled as Liam gives his undivided attention to his phone – and her concerned thoughts are written all over her face.

But will Chas confront her fiancé about his furtive behaviour, or stew on it until she can't take it any more?

"Chas is a Dingle at the end of the day," explains our Emmerdale spy. "She speaks her mind when something troubles her.

"But then again, Chas is deeply in love with Liam, and she knows what carnage can come from going in all guns blazing! You'll have to wait and see whether she musters up the courage to ask Liam about what he's been up to."

The week begins with Liam whisking Cain Dingle off for a fishing trip so that the mechanic can enjoy the great outdoors before undergoing radiotherapy.

Show bosses recently announced that Cain's next treatment will begin soon. Show producer Sophie Roper told us: "Cain has got the next chapter of his treatment to come to terms with – it will be a course of radiotherapy. That's going to be really challenging for him because it will really impact his physical wellbeing.

"We've taken Cain on a journey in the last 12 months and he's had to overcome a lot. He's now ready to face this – and he's united in his relationship with Moira."

When Liam returns from his trip with Cain, he soon attracts suspicion with his secretive behaviour.

"As time goes on, it becomes even more clear that Liam is hiding something," notes our snoop. "It's a real mystery about what he could be keeping from Chas, given how close he is with her usually. Let's just hope this isn't going to cause real trouble when it comes to their relationship.”

What is Liam hiding? And can Chas get to the bottom of it?
