Despite the Harry Potter movie series ending over a decade ago, it seems as though being a fan of the fictional world continues to pay out, as the magical universe continues to open its doors to this day. Not only can fans look forward to the upcoming television show which is set to air this December, but it was back in 2023 that an RPG that saw us become Hogwarts students became the best-selling game of the year, and now, three years on, Hogwarts Legacy is still clinging on.
Here at Screen Rant, our very own William Cennamo awarded Hogwarts Legacy a 9/10 in his review, writing:
Hogwarts Legacy is a wonderful game filled to the brim with adventures to be had, activities to engage in, and secrets to be found. The school and the surrounding areas have been recreated beautifully, and players will easily lose hours lost in the whimsical splendor of this wizarding world.
It may not have welcomed any expansions or DLC since its launch, other than a brief summer update and one additional quest, but with Avalanche Software swiftly turning its attention to a Hogwarts Legacy sequel, it seems as though the drought has been forgiven. Even amidst worries over the future of the franchise due to the ongoing acquisition of Warner Bros., fans are still feeling hopeful for Hogwarts Legacy 2, but in the meantime, there is another exciting free download to look forward to.
That is because Hogwarts Legacy joins the likes of titles such as Star Wars: Galactic Racer as free downloads for Amazon Luna, the free gaming service included with all Amazon Prime subscriptions. As such, you do not need to own a PC or console in order to access its available titles, and anybody with a Prime membership can access a large library of games at any time.
Recently, Amazon Luna added the ability for users in the U.K. and USA. to access its library inside the Prime Video TV app on FireTVs, allowing them to play games directly through their televisions without needing a game console or PC. Quite impressive. Now, a few months on from this upgrade, and Amazon has revealed that Luna is set to join the Prime Video FireTV app in 12 additional countries.
As such, residents of Canada, France, Italy, and Spain can now join in on the fun, enjoying titles such as Hogwarts Legacy through their televisions at any time. Last but not least, if you are in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, or Sweden, this service will be rolling out sometime in November.
However, if the Harry Potter RPG is not your thing, there is still a wide selection of both AAA and indie titles, such as Dispatch, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Sonic x Shadow Generations, and more. Additionally, Amazon Luna adds new titles to its library each month, so you will never be short of things to play.
With gaming becoming a more expensive hobby each year, it is programs such as Amazon Luna that will make it a lot more accessible to those unable to purchase gaming PCs or the latest console. Hopefully, this service will continue to do well into the future.
