Kempton Park killings: Rachel John speaks out on GBV in SA

Rachel John, the 25-year-old influencer rumoured to be dating Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, has taken to Instagram to share her thoughts on the killings that have taken place in Kempton Park, South Africa. She addressed the killings via an Instagram Story on Wednesday 15 September.

NINE BODIES FOUND DEAD IN KEMPTON PARK

A total of nine dead bodies have been found in Ekurhuleni over the past two months. The latest victim, which was another woman, was found half-naked and wrapped in a sheet on the side of the road on Thursday morning (17 September), in Dawn Park, Ekurhuleni.

Investigators are working on finding her identity as well as the circumstances surrounding her death. Between 15 July and 15 September 2026, Gauteng police discovered five bodies of mostly half-naked women in the Kempton Park area.

The first case was a 37-year-old woman found half-naked and dead in an open veld near the R21 highway, with a suspect arrested two days later and remaining in custody since.

One victim has been formally identified: 38-year-old Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, a runner from Rhodesfield, Kempton Park. A second victim has been identifed as 32-year-old Itumeleng Kekana. A third victim has also been identified as 38-year-old Dineo Evelyn Motapane.

RACHEL JOHN SPEAKS OUT AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

Rachel John, the woman who has been rumoured to be dating Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, took to social media to speak out on the killings and the issue of Gender-Based Violence in South Africa. The 25-year-old influencer lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands but frequently visits South Africa, often staying in Jefrrey’s Bay in the Eastern Cape.

“For those of you who don’t live in South Africa, let me update you on a serious problem happening here. South Africa is facing a major crisis of gender-based violence and femicide. Over the past two months, the bodies of eight women have been found in the Ekurhuleni area, east of Johannesburg. Several were found with signs of violence. One of the women 38 year old Elizabeth Tsontso Moselakgomo, went missing after leaving home for a run. Her body was found days later,” she wrote.

“What really breaks my heart is that this is part of a much bigger problem. Women shouldn’t have to live in fear of being the next victim. Women should be able to live their lives freely and feel safe 🤍,” she continued.
