George Pickens accounted for 48 receiving yards on just two catches Sunday, and most of them came on one play. His 37-yard reception was Dallas' longest of the afternoon, but the Cowboys couldn't hold a fourth-quarter lead against Arizona. The Cardinals won 33-30 in overtime at AT&T Stadium, leaving Dallas at 3-5 after it had gone into halftime up 14-3.
Pickens drew four targets and finished second on the team in receiving yards behind CeeDee Lamb, who caught seven passes for 58 yards.
Pickens Provides The Longest Catch On Four Targets
The 37-yard gain was Pickens' longest since his 53-yard reception against Houston in Week 4. He also finished that game with two catches, though those went for 75 yards in a Dallas win. His workload had been steadier in the three games since: nine catches against Tampa Bay, six against Green Bay and four against Philadelphia.
A week earlier, Pickens had scored on a 21-yard catch in the Cowboys' 38-21 win over the Eagles. Against Arizona, Dallas' only touchdown through the air went to Ryan Flournoy, who reached behind him for a one-handed catch on a nine-yard throw from Dak Prescott. That capped an 85-yard drive on which Lamb supplied a 27-yard reception and converted a third down inside Arizona territory.
Arizona Erases Dallas' Fourth-Quarter Lead
Dallas still led by 14 early in the fourth after Prescott ran in a five-yard touchdown. By then, Arizona had already turned to Gardner Minshew in place of Jacoby Brissett, and the backup quarterback threw three touchdown passes in the final quarter.
The last came with six seconds left. Michael Wilson hauled in a 13-yard pass to tie the game at 30, but Chad Ryland missed the extra point that would have put Arizona ahead. Ryland got another chance in overtime and made a 42-yard field goal to win it.
The collapse came on a day when the Cowboys recorded five sacks and forced two turnovers. Quinnen Williams had two of those sacks, but Dallas couldn't get the late stop it needed once Minshew took over. The Cowboys now turn to Indianapolis on November 8, still looking for their first back-to-back wins of the season.
