Sungai Buloh petrol station under probe over ‘watered down’ RON95

Translate

A petrol station at Batu 14 in Sungai Buloh is being investigated following allegations that it sold RON95 petrol mixed with water earlier this month.

The domestic trade and cost of living ministry’s Selangor office said it received a complaint on Oct 19, and sent officers to the petrol station on the same day to conduct a check.

Its director, Hanif Asa’ari, said three samples were taken from the petrol pumps and sent to the chemistry department to be analysed, Sinar Harian reported.

“An inquiry paper has been opened to allow an investigation to be held. The ministry takes this issue seriously,” he said.

Hanif said the petrol station was also advised to ensure the quality of fuel being sold at the pump.

The ministry’s Selangor office previously received 10 complaints of watered down petrol allegedly being sold at seven petrol stations in the state.
