One of Sydney Sweeney's biggest movies is coming to HBO Max in two weeks, and it should continue her 2026 streaming domination. Sweeney's list of movies and TV shows includes quite a few hits. For instance, on the big screen, the actress recently found major success in a book adaptation. That would be The Housemaid, the R-rated psychological thriller that also featured Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, grossing $400.5 million worldwide. That was so successful that a sequel was quickly green-lit, with The Housemaid's Secret, based on author Freida McFadden's follow-up, to be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.

In terms of TV shows, Sweeney appeared in one of HBO's best series ever, the psychological thriller Sharp Objects, which was led by Amy Adams and came with a dark twist. Sweeney broke out on another HBO series, Euphoria, which also features stars like Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, with all three taking over Hollywood. Also at HBO, Sweeney was one of the main actors of The White Lotus season 1, helping make the Mike White dark comedy series a hit. Now, Sweeney and HBO Max are set to unite as Anyone but You will arrive on the streaming service in two weeks.

Sweeney's Anyone But You Is Coming To HBO Max Very Soon

It has been officially confirmed that Sweeney's Anyone but You will be released on HBO Max on October 20. This is one of the actress' most popular projects to date. Loosely based on William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, the R-rated romantic comedy that also co-starred Glen Powell ended its global box office run with $220.3 million. That total made the hit rom-com the highest-grossing live-action Shakespeare movie adaptation of all time. Anyone but You also boasts a stellar 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with Powell and Sweeney's chemistry, as well as their comedic timing, being among its positives.

Anyone but You is one of the many movies coming to HBO Max in October. Sweeney's R-rated rom-com was the first release in the genre to cross the $200 million mark around the world since 2018's Crazy Rich Asians, and that film will arrive on HBO Max on October 6. Other movies coming to HBO Max this month include Sweeney's R-rated psychological thriller The Housemaid on October 9, Hugh Jackman's thriller The Death of Robin Hood on October 16, Jon Bernthal's spy thriller The Amateur on October 17, and many more. Earlier this year, Sweeney's The Voyeurs and Americana trended on HBO Max.

The Film Is A Sneaky Remake Of A Shakespeare Classic

Sydney Sweeney looking off into the distance in Anyone But You

Anyone but You follows Sweeney's Bea and Powell's Ben as they start to hate each other due to a misunderstanding despite having a first date set to the tune of sizzling chemistry. When they find themselves part of the same wedding trip to Australia, Bea and Ben see if they can leave their differences behind. Anyone but You is loosely based on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, which features the characters Beatrice and Benedick, who keep bickering and saying that they will never get married, only to ultimately fall for one another. Anyone but You modernizes the Shakespeare play.
