Moto3: Last-lap incident costs Danish in Mandalika

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Despite making a strong start to the race, Moto3 rookie Hakim Danish Ramli was forced to settle for 14th at the Grand Prix of Indonesia after being handed a three second penalty on Sunday.

Danish was involved in a last-lap incident with GRYD Racing's Joel Kelso, who crashed. Stewards found Danish to be at fault and handed him the penalty.

The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSI rider had initially crossed the line 12th, though was demoted to 14th following the penalty.

Danish otherwise had a strong race and was in contention to secure a top-10 finish.

The 19-year-old had to start from the back of the grid after being penalised for slow riding during qualifying one on Saturday.

CFMoto Gaviota Aspar Team's Maximo Quiles won the race in 32:36.821s with Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP's David Almansa (+2.994s) and Red Bull KTM Ajo's Brian Uriarte (+5.156s) taking second and third.
