Kim Chiu receives her iMBC Awards’ Best Global Star trophy from South Korea

Kim Chiu has received her Best Global Star trophy from the iMBC Awards in South Korea, weeks after she was announced as the winner of the vote-based category.

The actress-TV host showed off the trophy in a series of photos she posted on Instagram over the weekend, where she posed in a vibrant orange strapless dress with a thigh-high slit.

“Gamsahamnida (감사합니다),” Chiu began her caption, expressing gratitude to her supporters, family, friends, and colleagues who have supported her throughout her 20-year career.

“Through every season, every project, every high and low—you always have my back. I will forever be grateful to have you by my side. This recognition is also yours,” she added.

Chiu also thanked the iMBC Awards for the recognition and congratulated the organization on its second year.

“It is such an honor to represent the Philippines alongside so many talented actors and actresses from different countries. To be recognized among all of you is something I will truly treasure,” she said.

Chiu, who was recognized for her role in “The Alibi,” acknowledged her team behind the series, as well as Dreamscape Entertainment, Star Magic, and ABS-CBN, for their continued support.

“Twenty years in this industry, and I still find myself overwhelmed with gratitude whenever I receive love like this,” she expressed.

Chiu was announced as the iMBC Awards’ Best Global Star on Aug. 12, topping the vote-based category. Thai actresses Rachanun Mahawan and Tipnaree Weerawatnodom placed second and third, respectively.

The actress’ “The Alibi” co-star and love team partner Paulo Avelino also made the list, ranking fifth in the same category.

Leading the iMBC Awards winners were South Korean stars Byeon Woo-seok and IU, who received the Best Actor and Best Actress honors, respectively.

The iMBC Awards is an annual awards program hosted by iMBC Entertainment, the digital media arm of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), one of South Korea’s major broadcasting networks.

This is not Chiu’s first international recognition in South Korea. In 2024, she won the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards for her portrayal of Juliana Lualhati in the Philippine series “Linlang.”
