Firm takes self-service fuelling to S’South

Sunbeth Energies Limited.

An energy firm, Sunbeth Energies Limited, has taken its self-service fuelling programme to Rivers State, opening a new station in Port Harcourt.

The station, located in Ada George, allows customers to pay for fuel using bank cards or transfers and dispense the product themselves, with customer assistants available to provide guidance when needed.

In a statement on Wednesday, the company said the new outlet builds on its existing self-service stations in Lagos and Abuja, where customers can complete payments and dispense fuel without assistance from attendants.

Sunbeth Energies, with technical support from Techbroker and Fuelmetrics, stated that its two existing self-service stations had recorded a 100 per cent transaction success rate, with no service downtime since September 2026.

It noted that the performance was measured by customers’ ability to complete payments and dispense fuel without transaction-related problems.

At the Ada George station, instructions are provided at the pumps to guide customers through payment, dispensing and transaction confirmation.

Customer assistants are also available to answer questions and help motorists who require support while using the service.

Commenting on the launch, the Chief Operating Officer of Sunbeth Energies, Bunmi Isijola, said the self-service model was intended to give customers greater control over their fuelling experience while retaining human assistance.

“Self-service is not about replacing people; it is about giving customers greater control over their fuelling experience while creating new ways for our people to support and serve them. Our Customer Assistants are trained to guide motorists through the process, answer their questions and provide assistance whenever needed. As we bring this experience to Port Harcourt, our commitment remains the same: to make fuelling more convenient, transparent and reliable for every customer,” she said.

Sunbeth Energies operates in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, focusing on the bulk trading, distribution and supply of refined petroleum products.
