Alvini and Frosinone worry Napoli will ‘try to counter attack’ with 3-4-3

Massimiliano Alvini’s biggest worry for Frosinone is that Napoli will try to surprise them on the counter-attack. ‘We can take the initiative, but get caught out by their pace in transition.’
It kicks off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 19.45 UK time (20.45 CEST).
The Canarini go into this game three points clear of Napoli in the table, thanks also to their extraordinary 2-0 victory over Como before the break for international duty.
Having finished second in Serie B last season behind Venezia, they have had a remarkable start to this campaign on 10 points from five rounds.
Alvini and Frosinone never hold back
This is a reunion of sorts with Max Allegri, as the coaches had crossed paths back in 2003.
“I was in the Eccellenza league and he was in Serie D, so a rather different type of football to this evening,” smiled Alvini on Sky Sport Italia.
“We need to be up to the standard of this match and put all our characteristics and strengths into it. We want to confirm our current level with an intelligent performance.
“It’s going to be a tough test, we know that, and we want to keep going.”

Napoli have changed their tactics for this match and moved to a 3-4-3 formation at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
“We’ve got to be very careful with our preventative marking, as it’s possible we can take the initiative, but get caught out by Noa Lang and David Neres using their pace in transition.
“It is therefore crucial that we keep it tight to avoid dangerous counter-attacks.”

Antonio Raimondo had pulled out of international duty with the Italy Under-21 side due to a knock, but he has shaken it off to start this evening at the Stadio Maradona, fresh from four goals so far this term.
It means only Florian Grillitsch and Daniel Birligea miss out, with Fares Ghedjemis, Romano Schmid and Giorgi Kvernadze in support.
“Bobcek also only returned yesterday from international duty, so we made this decision, then we’ll see how it goes,” concluded Alvini.
