KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — Eight areas recorded unhealthy air quality as of noon today, with Johan Setia in Selangor continuing to register the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading.

According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Johan Setia recorded an API reading of 157, followed by Nilai in Negeri Sembilan at 153.

Putrajaya and Shah Alam each recorded 152, while Klang stood at 151.

Cheras recorded an API reading of 120, followed by Banting at 114 and Port Dickson at 113.

As of noon, 53 locations recorded moderate air quality, while another seven were in the good range.

API readings of zero to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and readings above 300 hazardous.
