Jesus: I’m Prepared To Compete With Raphinha At Barca

Barcelona forward Gabriel Jesus has disclosed that he is ready to compete with his in-form teammate Raphinha for a starting spot in Hansi Flick’s lineup.

Raphinha has started the season brilliantly, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in his first six matches.

In an interview with Tot Costa, Jesus admitted that Raphinha deserves his current playing time.

He noted that he wants to stay patient, wait for his chance, and score important, decisive goals rather than easy ones when a match is already won.

“Rapha is scoring goals. He plays every game, he deserves it,” Jesus told Tot Costa.

“I’m going to try to compete and wait for my opportunity to play more and get more minutes.

“I want to score goals and help, and I don’t want to do it when it’s 2 or 3 or 4-0, I want to score important goals.”

After joining from Manchester City in 2022, Jesus scored 32 goals and provided 18 assists in 123 appearances for Arsenal.
