Rappler Talk: Naguib Sinarimbo on the work ahead for BARMM’s first elected parliament

MANILA, Philippines – Two weeks after the winners of the parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro were proclaimed, negotiations are underway to build coalitions and the Cabinet.

The election was principally a race between two parties – the Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) and the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP). These parties were closely followed by the BARMM Grand Coalition, the party of traditional elites.

Rappler reporter Iya Gozum talks with Bangsamoro member of parliament-elect Naguib Sinarimbo on the work ahead for the newly elected parliament. This includes selecting the chief minister and passing the 2027 budget. Sinarimbo is currently the spokesperson of BFP and was instrumental in the creation of UBJP in 2014.
