Barry Manilow Makes Early Exit From Second Night of Vegas Residency Comeback, Cancels Saturday Night Show

Translate

Following a long-anticipated return to the stage Thursday night, Barry Manilow has canceled his Saturday show at the International Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

“After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows,” a representative for the musician told Variety.

The news follows reports that the “Copacabana” singer had concluded his Friday show early. His Thursday concert marked Manilow’s first time back onstage after a six-week hiatus following his Aug. 22 show. Manilow had been continuing his recovery from lung cancer, a diagnosis he publicly revealed in Dec. 2025.

Manilow’s residency at the Westgate Las Vegas was initially set to begin in Feb., though the singer said he would need to postpone it until March after his surgery. In May, he then shared that while he’d been making “great progress” in his recovery, per his doctor’s orders, he wasn’t “quite ready” to perform and would need to once again push the Las Vegas dates.

“Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I’m making great progress and look great,” Manilow wrote on X. “Well of course I do! Thank you very much! All the training and exercising I’ve put in is paying off. He did say, however, that I’m not quite ready for Vegas. That means I won’t be able to return for our May shows at [Westgate Las Vegas]. But the good news is he said I will be ready for my June arena shows in the UK. It’s going to be great to see you all in the UK. Westgate Las Vegas is my home away from home…and I’ll see you all in July. In the meantime…come to the UK! We’ll be there in June and hope you will be too! See you then… Barry.”

Manilow’s cancer had been discovered when he got an MRI while recovering from bronchitis.
